I wanted to show you a post a little 'different than usual to answer the many requests I receive from you about how I create an outfit. Everything always starts with an idea, an inspiration of the moment and in this case it’s about the fabulous Seventies and then it goes on in a funny research of all clothing first of all among those ones already in my closet and then looking around in different shops and of course online too. At the beginning there have been these Casadei wedges, seen for the first time on Rachel Zoe’s website, looked in vain for them in boutique and finally found out at Luisaviaroma. The second step was the purchase of a pair of 7 For All Mankind dark washed flared jeans. That Marc Jacobs clutch, however, was definitely not planned, but when I found it in front of me, I immediately thought it was perfect for the outfit I was creating so I could not resist. If you remember, some time ago I had already worn this American Apparel floppy hat, this H&M blouse and this Chanel necklace. Finishing touch, those Topshop earrings purchased online. Et voila...le jeux son fait! Oh I forgot, what do you think about this disturbed vintage effect in the photos?

Ho voluto proporvi un post un po’ diverso dal solito per rispondere alle molte richieste che ricevo da parte vostra su come costruisco un outfit. Tutto nasce sempre da un’idea, da un’ispirazione del momento e in questo caso si tratta dei favolosi anni Settanta e poi prosegue in una divertente ricerca dei vari capi innanzitutto tra quelli già presenti nel mio armadio e poi girovagando nei vari negozi e ovviamente anche online. In principio ci sono state le zeppe di Casadei, viste per la prima volta sul sito di Rachel Zoe, cercate vanamente in boutique e scovate infine da Luisaviaroma. Il secondo passo è stato l’acquisto di un paio di jeans 7 For All Mankind con un lavaggio scuro e svasati in fondo. La clutch di Marc Jacobs, invece, non era assolutamente in programma, ma quando me la sono ritrovata davanti ho subito pensato che fosse perfetta per l’outfit che stavo costruendo e così non ho saputo resistere. Il cappello di American Apparel, la blousa di H&M e la collana di Chanel, se vi ricordate, li avevo già indossati qualche tempo fa. Ultimo tocco, gli orecchini di Topshop acquistati online. Et voilà…le jeux son fait! Ah dimenticavo, cosa ne pensate di questo effetto disturbato dal sapore vintage nelle foto?

Last year when I bought these clogs I sincerely thought to wear them only for one season, instead, I’ve noticed with great pleasure that many fashion designers have replicated them for spring-summer 2011. So I decided to create a look with some references to the Seventies, one of the major trends of the moment, but trying to put out some more elegant, refined and contemporary elements. I have therefore opted for a pair of Seven7 slightly flared white jeans, the famous Miu Miu clogs, a grey silk top and a vintage purple jacket. Great importance to the accessories: the Louis Vuitton candy pink scarf, the Chanel sunglasses in the same shade, the flower ring and the H&M long necklace and, finally, the Chanel 2.55 jumbo grey, definitely one of my fav bags.

Quando ho acquistato questi clogs l’anno scorso pensavo sinceramente di utilizzarli una stagione soltanto, invece, ho notato con mio grande piacere che molti stilisti li hanno riproposti anche per la primavera-estate 2011. Ho deciso quindi di creare un look con dei richiami agli anni Settanta, una delle grandi tendenze del momento, ma cercando di inserire degli elementi più eleganti, raffinati e contemporanei. Pertanto ho optato per un paio di jeans bianchi Seven7 leggermente svasati, i famosi clogs di Miu Miu, un top in seta grigia ed una giacca viola vintage. Grande importanza anche agli accessori: il foulard rosa confetto di Louis Vuitton, gli occhiali da sole di Chanel nella stessa tonalità, l’anello a fiore e la lunga collana di H&M ed, infine, la Chanel 2.55 jumbo grigia, decisamente una delle mie borse preferite.

I’m particularly proud of these shots: I think that the choice of the outfit and, above all, of the colors is perfect for the type of location used. For the occasion I decided to wear a pair of Celyn b. yellow pants and a Zara striped blouse. The fresh air of the lake made a jacket necessary so I opted for this Celyn b. gold jacket. Gold is definitely a dominant element in this look: we also found it in the Louis Vuitton sculpture-wedges, in the details of the Chanel 2.55 bag, in the Yves Saint Laurent bracelet, in the Ray-Ban sunglasses and, finally, in the H&M metallic nailpolish. What do you think about the final result?

Sono particolarmente orgogliosa di questi scatti: trovo che la scelta dell’outfit e, soprattutto, dei colori sia perfetta per il tipo di location utilizzata. Per l’occasione ho deciso di indossare un paio di pantaloni gialli di Celyn b. ed una blousa a righe di Zara. L’aria frizzante del lago rendeva necessaria una giacca ed io ho optato per questo giubbotto oro di Celyn b. L’oro è sicuramente un elemento dominante in questo look: lo ritroviamo anche nelle zeppe-scultura di Louis Vuitton, nei dettagli della 2.55 di Chanel, nel bracciale di Yves Saint Laurent, nei Ray-Ban ed, infine, nello smalto metallizzato di H&M. Voi cosa ne pensate del risultato finale?

Certainly you all know the picture of Kate Moss published a few months ago on Vogue UK in which she wore a pair of red leather pants and a breathtaking Balmain leopard jacket. I fell in love with that look since the first moment I saw it, also thanks, without a shadow of doubt, to the extraordinary power of interpretation and the great personality of the Moss. So I tried to repeat the same outfit with low cost items. The research was rather long but I finally managed to achieve my goal and I’m very satisfied of the outcome: the pants are by Pinko, the jacket is by Zara, while the shirt is a courtesy of Motivi. Then I chose to wear a pair of simple Jimmy Choo black booties, combined with the cream patent leather Lady Dior with gold details, such as the Chanel pearls necklace and earrings ones. What do you think about this look?

Sicuramente tutti voi avrete presente la foto di Kate Moss pubblicata su Vogue UK qualche mese fa in cui indossava un paio di pantaloni in pelle rossa ed una giacca leopardata di Balmain da togliere il fiato. Mi sono innamorata di quel look dal primo istante in cui l’ho visto complice, senza ombra di dubbio, la straordinaria forza interpretativa e la grande personalità della Moss. Ho quindi cercato di riproporre lo stesso outfit con capi low cost. La ricerca è stata piuttosto lunga ma alla fine sono riuscita a raggiungere il mio obiettivo e sono molto soddisfatta del risultato: i pantaloni sono di Pinko, la giacca è di Zara, mentra la camicia è un gentile omaggio di Motivi. Ho scelto poi di indossare dei semplici stivaletti neri di Jimmy Choo, abbinati alla Lady Dior in vernice color crema con dettagli oro, come quelli della collana e degli orecchini di perle di Chanel. Finally we succeeded in realizing one of my dreams: take some pics and make a short video in a supermarket, using as a definitely pop background the multitude of colored goods displayed on the shelves. As you know, you can not make video or take photos within a GDO’s store, so Manuela and I had to organize ourselves in a different way from usual. We left home the camera, that it certainly would catch the eye and we opted to use my Iphone. We risked a lot, both the expulsion by the security and the confiscation of the whole shot material and the possibility of not having an acceptable final result. For this reason, we apologize for the not so excellent quality of the photos and the video a bit 'rough but I hope you enjoy this idea too!

Also my look helped to attract stunned and suspicious looks (have you noticed the grandma in the last pic?) but, come on, it takes a little 'courage at times! I chose to wear the H&M lace shorts with a basic black tank top, my beloved Chanel 2.55 bag and I thought I’d bring something even more insane with the Louboutin leopard ankle boots and the Borsalino black hat.

Finalmente siamo riuscite a realizzare uno dei miei sogni: fare qualche scatto e un breve video all’interno di un supermercato, sfruttando come background decisamente pop la moltitudine di merci colorate esposte sugli scaffali. Come sapete, non si può fare foto o riprese all’interno di un punto vendita della GDO, così io e Manuela abbiamo dovuto organizzarci in modo diverso dal solito. Abbiamo lasciato a casa la macchina fotografica che avrebbe dato sicuramente nell’occhio e abbiamo optato per l’utilizzo del mio Iphone. Abbiamo rischiato molto, sia l’espulsione da parte della sicurezza ed il relativo sequestro di tutto il materiale girato, sia l'eventualità di non avere un accettabile risultato finale. Per questo motivo ci scusiamo per la qualità non eccelsa delle foto e per il video un po’ mosso ma, spero, possiate apprezzare ugualmente questa idea!

Anche il mio look contribuiva ad attirare sguardi allibiti e sospetti (avete notato la nonnina nell’ultima foto?) ma, suvvia, ci vuole un po’ di coraggio a volte! Ho scelto di indossare gli shorts in pizzo di H&M con una canotta nera basica, la mia adorata 2.55 di Chanel e ho pensato di dare un tocco ancora più folle con gli ankle boots leopardati di Louboutin ed il Borsalino nero.

These shots were taken in a building yard with the aim of creating a contrast between the background and my outfit. On one hand, we have the typical scenario of a house under construction: bricks, cement, dust, tools, in short a very rough and chaotic location. In contrast we find, instead, my outfit, so bon-ton and delicate: floral shorts, powder tank top and brown leather suspenders, all fortunately discovered a few days ago at Oysho, since the first time I tried, it was already sold out. Completing the look my beloved grey 2.55 Chanel jumbo bag, just in the same shade of the American Apparel nailpolish and, as a single note over the top, the Miu Miu clogs. I love to entrust to the shoes a touch of madness that animates the whole outfit!

Questi scatti sono stati realizzati in un cantiere edile con l’obiettivo di creare un contrasto tra l’ambiente circostante ed il mio outfit. Da un lato, infatti, abbiamo lo scenario tipico di una casa in costruzione: mattoni, cemento, polvere, attrezzi, insomma una location assolutamente grezza e caotica. In contrapposizione troviamo, invece, il mio outfit, molto bon-ton e delicato: shorts floreali, canotta color cipria e bretelle in pelle marrone, il tutto scovato fortunatamente pochi giorni fa da Oysho, visto che la prima volta che l’avevo cercato era già terminato. Completano il look la mia adorata Chanel 2.55 jumbo di colore grigio, proprio della stessa tonalità dello smalto di American Apparel e, unica nota sopra le righe, gli zoccoli di Miu Miu. Amo affidare alle scarpe quel tocco di follia che vivacizza l’intero outfit!
